Every year in winter time there is an interesting event going on, World Art Ice Championship. The competition is held in Fairbanks Alaska since 1988. and the goal is to make the most amazing ice sculpture. Teams are made of up to 2 persons for single block and up to 4 persons for multi block category. Teams are given one block (for single block category) or ten blocks (for multi block category) of ice, each weighing up to 3 tons. They have 5 days to finish their sculpture.

Almost 50,000 spectators visited the event in 2006 and saw the magnificent ice art live. For all of you who weren't so fortunate there are some pictures bellow. Enjoy!
